What Do You Define Faith As? (John 3:11-15) - Overseer Sung-Hyun Kim

God
is true.
The Word
that He showed to the world is true, and He is the truth (Jn 14:6).
The truth does not refer to human wisdom or common sense.
It is the words which God alone can fulfill (Jn 8:45-47).
However, no one
has seen God. How can you see and believe?
Only Jesus has seen Him. ‘God’s word’ refers to what He alone knows (Jn 3:13).
If He spoke in parables using earthly logic and they did not believe,
how will they believe the truth of heaven? (Jn 3:12)
Therefore,
faith is not understood by seeing or touching (Jn 20:29).
You will get the answer about faith only by acknowledging
Him who speaks and acknowledging His authority (Mk 16:16-17).
Moses hung the bronze snake on the tree in the desert (Num 21:8-9).
How could this achieve salvation?
This was a parable (Heb 9:9-10).
We are saved when accursed sin dies on the tree,
and this becomes faith (Gal 5:24).
When Jesus died on the cross, our sins had died.
○ Saying ‘I believe’ just with your conviction is superstition
and it is not based on faith leading to salvation.
Salvation is fulfilling the plan decided by God.
○ How can we compare the plan that God fulfilled in heaven?
How can we compare the plan that Moses fulfilled in the desert?
This truth is understood by faith.
○ The faith leading to salvation
is based on what God determined in heaven,
and we should believe it as the work of God.
※ Do not understand God’s work with human wisdom.
God’s work is the truth,
and our spirits are saved by the truth.
